Le programme Santé Gym de la FFG est basé sur des études ayant montré :

  • une diminution de la perte osseuse chez la femme ménopausée (Wolff et coll., 1999).
  • une diminution du risque de fracture du col du femur (Feskanich et coll., 2002)
  • une conservation de la fonction musculaire nécessaire au maintien de la mobilité chez le sujet âgé (Rantanen et coll., 1994 et 1996) (Fiatarone et coll., 1990 );( Pyka et coll., 1994)
  • une amélioration de l’équilibre et une moindre incidence des chutes (Hu et Woollacott, 1994) ainsi que la réduction des chutes nécessitant d’avoir recours à des soins médicaux ou chirurgicaux (Tinetti et coll. 1994)
  • une amélioration des capacités fonctionnelles et à une diminution des douleurs dans l’arthrose (Mangione et coll., 1999 ; Dias et coll., 2000 ;Hartman et coll., 2000 ; Messier et coll., 2000)
  • une amélioration du bien-être et de la qualité de vie (Rejeski et coll., 1996 ; Rejeski et Mihalko, 2001 ; Spirduso et Cronin, 2001 ; Netz et coll., 2005)
  • une amélioration du capital verbal, de la rétention visuelle, de la structuration spatiale, du tonus mental, et du développement de la mémoire et des habiletés intellectuelles (Bixby et coll., 2007)
  • une diminution des lombalgies : Méthode posturo-respiratoire De Gasquet
