Principal characteristics

The pda Contains the essential information on drugs present within the VIDAL database as well as healthcare products present in the VIDAL Drug Compendium: general information (brand name, composition, CIP code, price), indications, contra-indications, drug-drug interactions, adverse reactions, special warnings, special precautions, pregnancy and breast-feeding, overdosing, dosage.

• Rapid drug search using 5 input criteria: Brand Name, Substance, Therapeutic class, Indication, Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.
• Rapid search for personal care products (pink pages of the VIDAL Drug Compendium) using 3 specific input criteria: Brand Name, Manufacturer and Classification.
• Simple navigation using menus, hypertext links and specific icons.
• Prescription verification using the drug-drug interaction search module.
• Access to VIDAL News, the weekly electronic newsletter on drugs: new brand name drugs, drug monitoring alerts, new marketing authorizations, new recommendations from the French regulatory bodies (HAS) and Afssaps, etc. (www.vidalnews.net).
